The Gypsy line originates back to Derryage Gypsy Maid. No longer with us, she has bred long, strong females, predoaminantly white in colour, with nice udders who have made great breeding females. Our highlight in this line is Podehole Gypsy Xenia, by Chapelton Promoter. She was a prolific show winner for us as a yearling and two year old heifer.
Gypsy Maid’s first calf, Podehole Tamara was junior champion at the East of England Show in 2003 and was sold privately to Rob and Vicky Grinnall, Midlands. Since then all daughters have been retained.
We also sold a bull out of Gypsy Xenia, Podehole Atlas, to Caroline and Andrew Ivinson, Cumbria and Podehole Ambassador, out of Gypsy Swallow, sold to Ralph Catton, Hertfordshire, in Perth for 3500gns.
A grand daughter of Derryage Gypy Maid, Podehole Gypsy Freesia was champion at the East of England Smithfield Calf Show 2012, junior female champion at the Royal Highland and the Beef Shorthorn Nations Show at East of England 2013. This April 2012-born Chapelton Clansman daughter is out of Podehole Snowqueen S018 who is a Derryage Navajo daughter.

Wenmar Madeline N15 was purchased in 2002 from the Wenmar dispersal sale. She has made a lasting impression on this herd and we value this line so much that we have never and will never sell a female from this line.
Quality females have been retained in the herd all oozing power, style and great maternal characteristics. The most successful member of the family being Podehole Madeline Zeta, sired by Chapelton Promoter, she won a host of awards on the 2010 show circuit including breed champion at The Royal Highland Show, Great Yorkshire Show , member of the Burke Native interbreed pair at The Royal Show, breed and interbreed champion at Rutland and breed and native interbreed and reserve overall champion at the East of England Show. We have only ever sold one female from this line to Morrisons Farms.
This family has bred Podehole Beefeater, a Trojan of Craigeassie son out of Wenmar Madeline N15 who sold Perth February 2010 for 14,000gns.
His full sister Podehole Madeline Choice was breed champion at South of England, the Royal Highland Show and Great Yorkshire Show as well as the Beef Shorthorn National Show held at East of England 2013.

The Phantasy line goes back to one of the first females purchased by Harry, Tugby Phantasy 2nd. She was breed champion at The Royal Show 2003. This family produces good, honest breeders and knits well with any type of bull used in the herd.
Her first heifer Podehole Phantasy has been retained and out of her, we produced Podehole Trojan who was sold for 4000gns in 2004.
Tugby Phantasy’s second calf was Podehole Rambo who was breed champion at Perth 2002. Other females including Waltz and Eve have also been retained.

The Tessa line goes back to Tugby Tessa 7th who was purchased at the same time as Phantasy. The most noted female from this line is Podehole Tessa Yokel who won her class at the Royal Show as a two year old in 2007. All her calves have been in our show team. Her daughter was Yorkshire Show breed champion in 2012 as a two year old heifer.
Other notable female lines in the herd include Annie, Genoa and Hermione, all of which have females retained in the herd.
